Director: Zoya Akhtar
Producer: Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar
Music Director: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Lyricist: Javed Akhtar
Cinematography: Russell Peters
Story: Zoya Akhtar
Screenplay: Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar
Dialogue: Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar
Earlier titled as Love Story, Kismat Talkies will mark the debut of Javed Akhtar’s daughter and Farhan Akhtar’s sister Zoya Akhtar as a director. The film will also mark the comeback of Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor who have earlier worked in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Yaadein, Mujhe Dosti Karoge and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.
Rumours are there that Hrithik and Kareena have opted out of the film but the production house Excel Entertainments denies all such stories. Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan have earlier featured in four films and this will be the first time that they will be directed by a woman director.
The film is based on a romantic plot. After playing a double role in his debut Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Hrithik Roshan will be seen in yet another double role in Kismat Talkies. The story revolves around the confusion that is created due to the double role of the protagonist. Hrithik plays a model in the film. He is in complete awe of Priyanka Chopra. He even goes on to express his love for her but later on confusion infuses in the plot due to the love story that revolves around the look alike of Hrithik and Kareena Kapoor, a hooker.
The film’s soundtrack is being composed by ‘Teen Ka Kamaal’ trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film’s plot has been knitted by Zoya Akhtar and the shooting of the film will begin in 2008 at various locales of India.
Zoya Akhtar was supposed to enter the film industry with ‘Luck By Chance’ as a director but the film did not go on the floors due to unknown reasons. Lets hope that kismat shines for Zoya through her Kismat Talkies.
Hrithik: Weighed down by his ‘kingly’ status!

He’s been a super-hero, alright, and no one dare deny his heroic powers, but the Roshan boy can’t carry on the weight of this super-status anymore. For his screen role, at least. Hrithik has to wear extremely heavy armor to look convincing as emperor in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodha Akba. If carrying all that weight on his shoulders all day long wasn’t enough, the actor wakes up at 5am every morning, and drives for two and half hours to reach the location at Karjat in time. And all the way back, beating the Mumbai traffic. But the man still takes time out to exercise, spend dinner time with family and then sleep as early as he can to repeat the routine. Of course, his erstwhile 'Jodha', Aishwarya’s extended honeymoon and Cannes visit did throw the dates into a mini mess, but it didn't deter Hrithik from shooting and perfecting his parts. That's what makes him a true blue superstar and superhero, no?

The Cannes Diary: Day 3: Jodha Akbar splendid visuals
Date: May 19, 2007
Tanuj Garg, senior columnist and international movies professional at Studio 18, will give some quick daily pointers in the midst of his busy Cannes schedule, over the key festival dates…..only for India FM
Studio 18 announced its international venture, Little Zizou to be co-presented by Mira Nair and directed by ace writer Sooni Taraporevala. The film releases in early 2008 and is currently under production.
The Cannes trailer of UTV's forthcoming historical, Jodha Akbar was much appreciated. "Splendid visuals," remarked a trade-type. The lead actors weren't present to promote the film though.
A kind representative of the International Film Festival of Mumbai was handing out brochures to Indian stand owners and lamented, "Indian producers are submitting entries to international festivals but not to their own Mumbai festival." He added, "We have a selection committee that will select submissions and this year we have a lot of money as well because Adlabs is presenting it."
The event of the evening was the India Party at the Majestic Beach, which saw a flurry of excited Indian invitees hovering around the entrance half an hour before the official time on the invite. The music and grub (either there was no vegetarian at all or it had run out in no time!) left a lot to be desired and a few top-brass guests expressed their discomfort to me about a sea of nobodies floating around the party, obviously hustling anything and everything! This morning's trade dailies had no pictorial coverage of the do. Hopefully, tomorrow's editions will!
Mani Ratnam, Anubhav Sinha, Raju Hirani and Ashok Amritraj were present from the filmmakers' fraternity. Manisha Koirala (in Cannes on holiday), Aarti Surendranath and Preity Zinta (both in Cannes courtesy of Chopard) stole the thunder with their sartorial elegance.
Most of us made a swift exit for one of the two dos also taking place that evening - the Soho Party in a neighbouring castle and the Abu Dhabi Film Festival get-together (attended by the Sheikh of Abu Dhabi) at The Mint Bar in Villa Khayat. [It seems the Sheikh wants to give the glamorous Dubai International Film Festival some serious competition by making the Abu Dhabi Festival a fierce contender!

jodha akbar at cannes film festival
Date: April 28, 2007
The latest buzz around Jodha Akbar is that UTV and Ashutosh Gowariker will be screening the first promo of the film at the Cannes Film Festival. The Cannes International Film Festival will be on from May 16-27.
"This is a big-budget film and Ronnie and Ashutosh wanted to tap the international market for it. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai are big names in international market. Also, the film needs to be promoted abroad because period films are particularly in demand internationally," says our source.
Jodha Akbar has elicited a lot of interest ever since it went on the floors. This will be the first time that Hrithik and Aishwarya will be seen in a period film. Currently, Ashutosh is shooting at Nitin Desai's studio in Karjat to wrap up the film. He is expected to complete the film before he leaves for the festival.
"The three-minute promo will give a sneak peak of the film. After Hrithik and Ash's great chemistry in Dhoom 2, people are looking forward to seeing them together in Jodha Akbar," says our source.
Ash will be travelling with her in-laws and husband Abhishek to attend the Cannes Film Festival. "They will be holding a press conference followed by a grand party to interact with foreign media and distributors. This festival is considered to be the best platform to promote a film," says our source.
Incidentally, director Rituparno Ghosh has also been invited for the Cannes Film Festival for the Tous les Cinemas du Monde section which screens the best of world cinema. This year they will be screening Ghosh's black-and-white experimental film Dosar, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Prosenjit Chatterjee.
Hrithik: Anything for a fan!
Date: April 27, 2007
If you thought stars don’t have time for their fans, think again. Apparently, Hrithik is one actor who has a heart of gold in this case. There’s a story about how a woman walked up to Rakesh Roshan at a function and told him how much her son admired Hrithik, even to the extent of praying that he too gets six fingers like his superstar idol. Senior Roshan immediately gave her Hrithik’s number and asked her to call and make her son speak to Hrithik the next morning. What’s more, the next morning the filmmaker went out of his way and called the young boy and handed the phone over to Hrithik. Imagine the young boy’s joy when his idol advised him to drink a lot of milk, listen to his parents and call him up whenever he wanted, and told him he was welcome to come to Mumbai to meet him. Now even the young boy’s dad is a die-hard fan of ‘rockstar Hrithik’.
Dhoom 2 in hollywood
Date: April 25, 2007
The movie has been nominated for the Taurus World Stunt Awards taking place in Los Angeles on May 20.
After wowing audiences in India, the highly stylised ‘Dhoom 2’ has now created a record of sorts. The Aishwarya Rai-Hrithik Roshan starrer has become the first Hindi film ever to be nominated in the Foreign Film Category of the Taurus World Stunt Awards.
Allan Amin, the stunt director of the film, has been invited to Los Angeles for the award ceremony on May 20. “”It is indeed a rare privilege. I am so glad that I have been given this opportunity,” says an excited Amin.
The buzz is that if Allan wins the award, he will be receiving it from Hollywood hottie Keanu Reeves. However, the list of other foreign films vying for this award has not yet been announced. ‘MI3’, ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Déjà Vu’ and ‘Fast and Furious 3’ are the films nominated in the main category. No wonder Amin is so excited; after all he will be mingling with the best in the stunt business!

White sand, red hot!

Source: Mumbai Mirror
Date: April 5, 2006
Reports are that Ashutosh Gowarikar has ordered nearly 50 trucks of white sand from Jaipur, just to recreate the effect of in Karjat, where they're shooting now. The director who has been shooting for his magnum opus Jodha Akbar at Nitin Desai's Studio in Karjat for the last one month, panicked when he realised that Mumbai soil was not a patch on Jaipur soil.
"He needed to take shots of animals and even the long shots would require detailed shots of the soil," says our source. Finally, Ashutosh decided to get trucks loaded with white sand from Jaipur to maintain continuity and not compromise on the production standards of his film. "The same type of sand from Jaipur was ordered so that the authenticity of the film was maintained. White sand is the speciality of Jaipur and they couldn't cheat audiences by using anything else. Finally, huge trucks full of white sands were imported from Jaipur and nearly 65 employees were asked to spread the sands all over," says our source. A good many lakhs of rupees were spent in this exercise though, even though exact figures are difficult to obtain.
This historical film is based on the life of Jodhabai and Mughal emperor Akbar. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai play the lead roles. "The soil of Mumbai anyway absorbs heat which can get unbearable. But now these white sands are something that absorb even more heat during the summer. So, most of the actors are finding it difficult to give their shots. There are some scenes where character artistes are required to give shots barefoot since in those days, people used to walk without shoes. This is becoming a bit of a problem situation since most of the actors are professional and Ashutosh is making it sure that everyone is treated with equal comfort," says our source.
After all, Ashutosh wouldn't want to be a cruel master would he?

Make-up artiste GA James on the ‘real’ Hrithik Roshan behind his mask.
Hrithik Roshan
* I first met him when Rakeshji (Roshan) was launching ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’. I was called to give the trial for Ameesha Patel. They liked my work and I was on.
* I gave Hrithik two different looks for his double role in the film too. Since then, he hasn’t faced the camera without me.
* He has great shiny skin. He doesn’t care much for make-up. It’s looking the character that he is playing, be it in ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, ‘Krrish’ or ‘Dhoom 2’, which is important to him.
* He has seen huge success but he has remained unchanged as a person. He is the same humble Hrithik. If he doesn’t like something, he will not shout. He simply gives you a freezing look. He doesn’t have to say anything. I understand.
* He’s a family man and shares a great friendship with wife Sussanne. After pack-up he doesn’t waste a minute and heads straight home. He loves playing with his son Rehan.
* Rehan has his mother’s eyes and is always smiling. Rakeshji is extremely fond of Rehan and keeps his photographs in the office. He keeps adding new ones all the time.
* On outdoors, Hrithik takes the entire unit for dinner. He decides the menu and gives us all a good time. Hrithik loves chicken, fish and paneer. He takes five meals a day.
* In ‘Jodha Akbar’ he looks like a real king. I don’t think anybody could look as sexy.
James’ diary
* Has two decades of experience in film, theatre and TV.
* Has been nominated as the best make-up artiste for ‘Dhoom 2’ for the IIFA Awards.
* Has worked with celebrities including Aamir Khan and Sachin Tendulkar.
* Specialised skills include effect masking, period work, wig application and special-light effects.
* Recent projects include ‘Namastey London’, ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’.

Bollywood kiddies run riot at Hrehaan Roshan’s 1st birthday party
It was a kiddie jungle out there (what with it being a Jungle Book theme) when Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan's baby boy turned one on March 28. Hrithik flew down straight from an ad shoot in Bangkok for Hrehaan’s special day, where he cut a Jungle Book cake. More than 40 kids, from Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s kids Suhana and Aryan to Akshay and Twinkle Kumar's son Aarav, along with their mommies, attended Hrehaan first birthday party at his Juhu home at about 4 in the afternoon.
“I have never seen a one-year-old kid enjoying his own birthday so much. He was a rock star at his party,” said doting grandmother Pinky Roshan whose sentiments were echoed by grandmom Zarine Khan, “Hrehaan didn’t cry at all and had so much fun!” Hrehaan wore cargo pants, replete with a cap and no, he didn’t break into a Dhoom 2 jig like super dad Hrithik!
Rakesh Roshan just enjoyed watching his grandson having a blast, as did aunt Sunaina and her daughter Suranika. Rani Mukerji came with her little niece, Kajol with daughter Nysa, Zayed and Malaika Khan, Farah and Aqeel Ali along with Fiza and Azaan, Simone and Ajay Arora with their three kids, Malaika Arora-Khan with her son Arhaan, it was a full house at the Roshan fold, with the kids running around and having a blast.

Good boy' Hrehaan Roshan earns high praise from mom Sussanne as he turns one
Celebrations continue at the Roshans' Juhu residence, as star son Hrehaan turned one on March 28. Hrithik, who rushed in from sets of Jodha Akbar at Karjat, and wife Sussanne settled for a small birthday party for their baby boy on Wednesday evening. The guests included close family friends. Hrehaan, says, mommy Sussanne is "doing really, really well. It's good to be his mom."
With papa Hrithik rushing through a hectic schedule the family didn't have any grand plans for the day. Says Sussanne, "I had this little birthday thing at home."
Ask her about her son's activities and she says, "No, thankfully he's a very good baby and he doesn't trouble me at all." The star son who is yet to make his appearance hardly resembles daddy. Says Sussanne, "He is too cute. He has got my looks more than Hrithik's."
However, mommy refused to reveal the gifts that she got for baby Hrehaan. "Just lots of love," she says.
Despite injuring himself, Hrithik continued to shoot for an ad film.

The superstar hired a chopper to avoid delays and stayed in a five-star at his own expense
Hrithik Roshan has taken his superhero role to heart. While shooting for an ad film, he injured himself but decided to continue shooting. With limited time off from Jodha Akbar, he had three days on hand for the ad film shoot and he made sure he met his commitments.
Hrithik Roshan injured his ankle and sprained a muscle while shooting for the ad for a mobile phone company. However, keeping the deadline in mind, he hired a chopper to reach the venue in town and stayed back at a five-star hotel to finish the shoot according to schedule.
Hrithik Roshan says, "Yes, I did injure myself while shooting but since I had made a commitment, I didn't think it would be right to abruptly stall the shoot. I took some painkillers to ease the pain and decided to continue the shoot."
He further adds, "A campaign is not just about the artiste. It also involves hard work of a lot of people behind the scene and I felt that I could overcome the pain rather than delay the entire project."
Dhiraj Soni, marketing manager of the product, informs, "Yes, we were shooting at Yashraj studios and he had given us about three days to shoot the ad. It was a photo shoot that displayed his energy and athletic prowess, when he sprained his back muscle very badly. He was obviously in a lot of pain. But, he took painkillers and finished the day's shoot. We were worried about the next day, but I appreciate his commitment to his job and his intention to finish, according to schedule. He came to the shoot next day which was at Mukesh Mills in a chopper and stayed in a five-star in town, so that he didn't have to travel and he paid for all the expenses. I genuinely appreciate his effort and his company Carving Dreams which left no stone unturned to finish the shoot as per the deadline."

Hrithik Promotes Tata Sky

With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 round the corner, Direct-To-Home (DTH) players hope to double their subscription revenues in the first year to Rs 90-100 crore by selling around 300,000 connections in March alone.
This will mean an addition of 15 per cent to the existing DTH subscriber base of 25 lakh shared by Dish TV and Tata Sky. Even cable operators in areas under the conditional access system (CAS) in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata are hopeful of a 10-fold increase in subscribers because of the World Cup.
“Currently, 100-200 STBs are sold on a daily basis. However, as the World Cup nears, we expect to sell 1,000 STBs per day,” said Ravi Mansukhani, managing director, InNetwork Entertainment.
But DTH players are betting big on the World Cup. Currently the two players are acquiring 5,000-6,000 subscribers a day, with each subscriber spending Rs 3,500-Rs 4,000 for a connection.
To lure subscribers, both Dish TV and Tata Sky have announced special offers. For instance, Dish TV has floated a promotional price of Rs 3,990 valid till March 31, including its Sports Active service which allows for multiple screen viewing.
Likewise, Tata Sky is offering a three-month subscription free to subscribers who buy before April 15. Additionally, the company has signed up Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan for a lucky draw contest in which 50 families will get to watch the finals in Mumbai with the film-star.
“We are optimistic that our rate of new subscriptions will increase two or three-fold,” said Anjali Malhotra, vice-president marketing, Dish TV. Dish TV’s subscription base stands at 1.8 million.
Even Tata Sky aims to get closer to its first-year target.
Said Vikram Mehra, vice-president, consumer marketing, Tata Sky, “We set ourselves the target of achieving one million subscribers in the first year of our launch. With the World Cup, we feel we may achieve it much ahead of our target.”
Hrithik to play Aladdin

March 15, 2007
Times Now reports that Hrithik will play the title role in Aladin to be produced by Rohan Sippy. Big B will play the genie.
Life is definitely on the upswing for Hrithik Roshan. The blue eyed boy of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan is rocking with meaty roles. With the stupendous success in Krrish and Dhoom 2, he has another plum role as Aladin in a Rs 70 crore blockbuster to be produced by Rohan Sippy. The role is opposite Amitabh Bachchan.
But according to sources Hrithik is forgetting his old benefactors. Zoya Akhtar was one of the few directors who was ready to take a chance on Hrithik post Lakshya. It seems he is unwilling to return the favour. The actor has now opted out of Zoya's much touted love story. Though close friends cite the sizzling chemistry with Kareena and Suzanne Khan's ire as the main cause of the actor's denial to accept Zoya's offer. The fact is Zoya's film is a small fry as compared to the whopping Aladdin that stars none other than the Big B as the genie.
After all when you have a Rs 70 crore budget movie and a superstar cast, can we really blame Hrithik for giving love story a pass? It looks like the junior Roshan has finally realised that you are only as good as your last film.
Hrithik and Priyanka's revelation makes Koffee HOT!

Source: Indiaenews
Date: February 14, 2007
He is truly a superhero in every which way... She is super hot and happening... He’s had the most rocking year in the business... He can dance, fly and boy... He can Dhoom... She is truly the reigning queen of Bollywood
This Sunday meet the mega star Hrithik Roshan, who from being termed as a ‘superb actor’ to now being termed as a ‘sex symbol’ has managed to replace every pin-up boy in the business and has emerged the hottest hunk, only on Koffee with Karan. The second guest is the super hot, very happening and truly the reigning queen of Bollywood, who’s had the biggest blockbusters in her kitty. The charismatic Priyanka Chopra and her Krissh co-star Hrithik chat up with Karan this Sunday, February 18th at 9 p.m. on Star One and Star World!
Hrithik and Priyanka have an absolute ball in the episode as Karan confesses; “I have never had people who talk more than me on my talk show.” The Krissh duo tease, laugh their heart out and let their hair down as they don’t miss any opportunity to mock each other… even taking digs at each others appetite! Hrithik talks about him being slated as a sex symbol, the sexiest compliment he has received so far, his take on his detractors who say that he works best with his father Rakesh Roshan and the much talked about kiss episode of Dhoom-2. Priyanka is also not spared by the hosts’ volley of questions. He probes Priyanka on her much doubted friendship with Kareena Kapoor, if she is currently dating someone, catfights and controversies and lots more!
And just when the set of controversial Q&A wraps up and the two attractive actors are about to lean back with a sigh of relief, Karan announces the rapid fire round! So which actor does Hrithik consider a threat? Shah Rukh, Hrithik or Salman – which co-star would Priyanka like to work again with? Kareena as a friend or Kareena as an acquaintance – what does Priyanka choose? A girl from Indian Cinema who turns Hrithik on? Lot of revelations... Lot of tongue-in-cheek moments...
Excerpts from the interview:
Karan: What’s the sexiest compliment you have received?
Hrithik: Well .. let me just say that .. there were these whole bunch of SMS’es that I got, in which it was pretty clear that a lot of the girls said that they were very happy .. a long way before the film had climaxed...
Karan: (interrupts) … I know of a lot of women who went to see the film with their husbands or their boy friends … and there were very shattered husbands at the end of the film.. and you managed to do that ..
Hrithik: It should be something that should motivate them
Karan: How’s it been .. the year .. you have had two big hits .. it’s been a fantastic commercial year for you .. are you thrilled .. happy .. waiting to do more exciting work ..
Priyanka: Yes.. I am really looking forward to do some good work.. it has been a fantastic year ..and more than anything my dad come back home this year.. he was really unwell last year … that added just to the whole year ..
Hrithik: You know... If anything ever happened to Krrish … you can easily go ahead and make a super ‘Krisshi’ ..
Karan: Because she is really a super girl ..
Hrithik: She is crazy .. she is a shocker ..
Karan: The over hyped kiss episode of Dhoom .. the whole paparazzi .. the media attention it got .. I believe it was absolutely for no reason .. What do you think?
Hrithik: There was a reason .. for sure ..
Karan: What was the reason?
Hrithik: The reason is .. some people are just not getting any action .. on a more serious note … I think it is ridiculous .. because from my point of view .. it’s all about creating that one beautiful moment on screen .. it’s about having a vision and giving your whole and soul .. and it doesn’t matter whether you are comfortable or uncomfortable with it .. you know there were all these questions .. were you uncomfortable .. were you awkward .. it doesn’t matter .. you know what’s the most uncomfortable thing in the world is … to stand at the edge of a 50 feet building and jump .. you are risking you’re life there .. but , you do it because I had a vision for Krish .. I had a vision for Aryan’s love story .. and that’s what it is all about .. creating that one special moment … rest all is crap ..
Karan: I thought is it was very aesthetically and beautifully shot.
Karan: Would you call them detractors .. the ones who turned around and said that Hrithik Roshan works only with his father? What would you call them?
Hrithik: Angels .. if it weren’t for them .. I don’t think it would have added that little zing in my drive .. so .. fab .. thank you.
Karan: That’s a great grand look at the detractors?
Hrithik: Ya .. they are all angels
Karan: Tell me, what is the worst criticism you have ever received?
Hrithik: Worst criticism .. I don’t know if you can call it a criticism .. but, here was this magazine, which had my face on the cover and said ‘Finished’
Karan: Finished
Hrithik: Ya .. Finished ..
Karan: Have you met that person who wrote that today
Hrithik: Ahh .. No , I don’t need to .. doesn’t matter ..
Karan: You think he or she is just turning in their heads and going completely mad that they wrote something like this..
Hrithik: But great .. it was the best day of my life .. because the truth was so apparent .. they have my face on the cover .. selling the magazine for that month …
Karan: Ya .. That upset you ..
Hrithik: No, it excited me . I was very very motivated .. encouraged .. I know it’s a bit crazy but that’s the way I am.
Karan: It seems to be .. detractors are angels .. and ‘Finished’ is encouraging ..
Hrithik: Absolutely ..
Karan: So, Hrithik Roshan is Mr. Nice guy .. is it really all that true? ..Are you all that nice .. really?
Hrithik: Ah .. I guess .. am I?
Karan: I think you are .. Are you really? ..
Hrithik: Ya .. laughs ..
Karan: Laughs … You are a nice guy .. duggu
Karan: Much doubted friendship with Kareena Kapoor no longer exists ..
Priyanka: Of course it does
Karan: You were spotted .. with various dinners .. going out in a group .. Shahid, you, her and of course your good friend Harman .. you’ll used to go out a lot .. and now that group seems to have dispersed ..
Priyanka: No .. It’s not that .. It’s just that we don’t have the time .. In fact Shahid and me are neighbors .. I have brought a house where he lives … I will be seeing a lot of him .. I’ve been out of town .. So we have not really hung out as much ..
Karan: I asked her this question .. you want to know what she said ..
Priyanka: I think it will be pretty much the same .. unless there is something else Karan: Well I asked her … I said you know ... are you’ll close … she said we are not anymore
Priyanka: We used to go on holidays …we don’t anymore …
Karan: She said we are not .. and it rather be like this …as acquaintances than friends … Has any water flown below this bridge … for her to have said this …
Priyanka: I have no idea .. where that came from ..
Karan: She said that she likes you … you are a nice girl … but its best to keep distance ..
Priyanka: Its her choice .. I am not pouncing on her either … laughs ..
Karan: You are getting there babes …
Priyanka: Thanks ..
Karan: Do you feel that .. it always started with women .. women have catfights .. women have issues .. have you seen that with men .. with the heroes in the business …
Priyanka: Well .. honestly .. guys I think have a lot more camaraderie .. They hang out …they can be a lot more chilled out somehow. . But girls there are always. I have sensed it … may be have this bird’s eye point of view. May be because I am not brought up here … but for me it was some how it was new to feel that. You’re friends in a second. And suddenly things change. Which, I don’t know why … and I just let it be. It doesn’t matter.
Karan: And you move on ..
Priyanka: Ya.. so much more to do …
Hrithik: Good for you …
Karan: Good for all us … I have never had people who talk more than me on my talk show …
Karan: So having fun …

Priyanka: No ..no .. good fun ..

Karan: I have to work very hard to get the crores .. You shake a leg and you get them
Hrithik: You are almost there ya
Karan: You think I can do like an Aryan ..
Hrithik: Much better .. I have full faith
Karan: And you would laugh the loudest .. if I had to do an Aryan …you know .. sexy and me .. don’t go
Hrithik: They do ..
Priyanka: What are you saying ..
Karan: only my mother thinks I am sexy … its only her ..
Hrithik: Gift of the gab ya
Karan: That’s more important.

We ran a poll on gulfnews.com and asked you to vote for your ideal celeb dinner date on Valentine's Day (see poll on this page). Unsurprisingly, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan proved to be the most popular - never mind if both are in committed relationships!
So what exactly makes us want to be with them? That too on a day marked out in red roses on the calendar?
An informal survey threw up one word: HOT. Men drooled over Ash, her eyes, her smile, her hair - and of course, her body. Women swooned over Hrithik - his eyes, his smile, his hair - and yes, his body!
The fact that both speak well, in a lingo every young, urban Indian understands, doesn't hurt either.
Time then for a quick comparison between the two superstars of current Indian cinema, purely in the interest of serious journalism.
Alike
Both Ash and Hrithik are in serious relationships. Hrithik is married to Suzanne, Ash has just got engaged to Abhishek Bachchan, as the whole world knows. Both sets of in-laws are big in the film industry. Suzanne is the daughter of Sanjay Khan and the niece of the irrepressible Feroz Khan.
Abhishek, of course, is the son of acting legends Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan.
Both Ash and Hrithik have light eyes that light up the screen.
Good bodies
Both have gorgeous bodies and manage to look good at all times. In hideous gown (think Cannes), wife-next-door sari (Guru) or sexy drape (Kajra Re in Bunty Aur Babli), Ash always looks attractive. Very.
Hrithik does exactly the same, whether he's dressed as superhero in mask and cape (Krrish), wearing casual jeans and a sweater knotted around his shoulders (Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai) or walking stiffly around in full-sleeve buttoned-down shirts and high-waisted trousers (Koi Mil Gaya).
Both have matured into good actors in the hand of the right director. Hrithik's fans have forgotten his Yaadein and Mujhse Dosti Karoge days. Aishwarya's fans are trying to forget Kuch Na Kaho and Umrao Jaan.
Fans of both, however, are never going to forget Dhoom2 - and the searing kiss they shared on screen. That was later censored, reportedly because the Bachchans got upset.
And yes, both are fabulous dancers - think Dhoom2 again, just for starters.
Different
The way they handle relationships. Ash has had at least two very publicised ones - remember Salman Khan and Viveik Oberoi? Her detractors even say she used each boyfriend to climb in her career and social status.
Hrithik is very much a one-woman man - Suzanne is a girlfriend from pre-stardom days. There has been speculation about him and actress Kareena Kapoor, but nothing has ever been proved. He's not starred in any major lover's row either, unlike Ash, caught between Salman and Viveik.
Another difference: Hrithik is from a film family himself, Ash is not. Roshan senior, Rakesh, was a B-grade actor who's turned into an A-grade director.
Bottomline
Whatever their differences, Ash and Hrithik are young and good-looking, well-spoken and media-savvy, equally skilful in shedding a tear or swivelling a hip.
Clearly, their fan base extends beyond India - as our very own online poll shows.

Hrithik 'Rambo' Roshan?

Source: Times Now
Date: February 14, 2007
He's obsessed about his physique and his father has one of the strongest Hollywood hangovers in Mumbai, which makes our knowledge about Hrithik being the next Rambo, very believable.
There is no official confirmation from the Roshans yet, but there is a very strong possibility of Hrithik being ‘Rambo 4’, which is totally in line with his father's constant larger than life vision - the vision which took more than a few leaps with Filmkraft’s superhero flick ‘Krrish’.
If Hrithik playing Rambo turns out to be a reality, it will be his ultimate step to superstardom - a huge step up from donning the combats in ‘Lakshya’, but much in line with the image he tried to portray in the same film.
The right platform
The physical dynamics fit to the T but no matter how endearing Stallone is, Hrithik will score better in the acting department.
“I think he's the only Indian actor who looks the part. He's fit enough and, after 'Krrish', this will go into another zone altogether as it's a Hollywood production and they'll spend the right kind of money to give it the right amount of backup,” opined ad film maker Prahlad Kakkar.
For the record, Hrithik hasn’t exactly been running after Hollywood. He turned down a film opposite Jennifer Lopez seven years ago.
While Sylvester Stallone gave a befitting farewell to the Rocky series with Rocky Balboa, it seems the Rambo legacy will be carried on and don’t be surprised if the future looks a bit Indian!
Hrithik Roshan in ‘Lakshya’
“A lot of people, when they came into the theatres to see ‘Lakshya’ with me being the central character, I think, expected to see something like the second half of the film, something like Rambo,” Hrithik had said in an earlier interview.
TIMES NOW called both Hrithik’s inner circle and contacts in Hollywood. While nobody was willing to spill the beans, our sources insist that Hrithik Roshan has indeed come very close now to getting his ticket to Hollywood. If it’s Rambo, then our desi superhero is surely flying first class.
Highly reliable sources have confirmed that Hrithik is lined up to play the role of the Afghani boy who grew up to be Rambo’s successor. The news is that the film will be shot in India once Hrithik has completed shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's ‘Jodha Akbar’. But does our man have what it takes to fill the formidable space created by Sylvester Stallone?

Hrithiks Career

Hrithik's first movie role was as a child artist when he was six years old in the 1980 movie Aasha, when he appeared in a dance sequence as an extra. He went on to appear as a child artist in Aap Ki Deewane (1980) and Bhagwan Dada (1986).
He was an assistant director for his father's films Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997).
He made his debut as a leading man in the 2000 film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai opposite another debutante actress Amisha Patel. The film was directed by his father and proved to be very successful at the box office: It was the highest grossing film of 2000 and winner of the Filmfare Best Movie Award. Hrithik's performance earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award and the Filmfare Best Actor Award. That same year, Hrithik also starred in Fiza and Mission Kashmir which were only moderately successful at the box office.
In 2001, Hrithik starred in Yaadein which was a failure at the box office and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which did extremely well at the box office, becoming the second-highest grossing film of 2001.
He had a bad year in 2002 when all three of his releases - Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage - failed to make an impact the box office and were declared flops.
In 2003, his career was back on track with Koi Mil Gaya, which Hrithik's father Rakesh directed. It was the highest grosser of the year. It won many Filmfare Awards, including another Filmfare Best Actor Award for Hrithik.
He only had only one release in 2004, Lakshya, directed by Farhan Akhtar. Lakshya did not do as well at the box office as expected but critics called it his most impressive performance so far.
Hrithik took a two-year break from acting before resurfacing with the superhero film Krrish which released in June 2006. Krrish has been a major box office success.
His most recent release is Dhoom 2, a sequel to the 2004 hit Dhoom. In this film, he plays a negative role (a villain) for the first time. The film released on November 24, 2006 and is already breaking box office records.
His forthcoming films are Jodha-Akbar and Kismat Talkies which are scheduled to release in 2007.
